What you will do

An information-focused conversation, often with one speaker explaining a service or process. Six individually presented questions follow.

Manage this part’s time

Organize notes as steps or conditions while listening. Each official question has a 30-second hear-and-answer window; do not spend that window rewriting your notes.

Practice routines are MockPip suggestions, not additional official timing rules.

A step-by-step approach

  1. Identify the service or process being explained.
  2. Record the sequence and its requirements using short labels.
  3. Separate standard conditions from exceptions.
  4. Match the question to the relevant step before comparing choices.

Techniques for this part

  • Record numbers with their units: dollars, days, kilometres or percentages. A bare number is easy to misapply.
  • Use arrows for sequence and an “if” label for conditional instructions.
  • Keep costs in separate categories, such as initial fee and optional extra, instead of adding everything automatically.

See the technique in action

Original mini-example: A rental costs $40, with a refundable $20 deposit. If the question asks for the rental charge, the answer is $40; the deposit is a separate condition.

This example is independently written for practice.

Common mistakes to avoid

  • Remembering a price but forgetting what it covers.
  • Treating an optional step as mandatory.
  • Reversing what happens before and after approval.

Choose an answer for every question

Wrong answers do not lose points. Eliminate implausible choices, then choose one best answer per question; leave no question blank. This does not mean selecting every option.

Your next practice exercise

Create a five-line instruction sheet from your notes without checking the transcript. Then verify each step and circle any missing condition.

Before you finish

  • Are the units attached to my numbers?
  • Did I track exceptions?
  • Does the selected option answer the precise question?
